Day Two, the Good the Bad and the Ugly

Day Two was very diverse in many ways. The good was that we set our spinnaker before our competitors and put some more distance between us, The Bad is that after putting up that spinnaker we quickly rounded up and tore it to shreds, the ugly is that our head is clogged. Such is the life of a sailor at sea.
The sun came out for a short time today and we all rejoiced and quickly laid out our foul weather gear to dry. We can see something that looks like squalls on the horizon so we also may get our first chance at a shower. The heavy winds that we have encountered have caused some damage to various sails and lines. We are trying to stay ahead of it as much as possible. All said we still made 195 miles over the last 24 hours so we are moving along.
A big thank you to Michele for the awesome breakfast burritos. They were a big hit with the crew again. Tonight we are having Lasagna with Parmesan cheese. The weather is not looking good for us over the next several days. We are sailing into a zone of light air that will take some finesse to work through.
At the skippers meeting we were warned about the debris that is floating out here from the Tsunami in Japan. We have seen several large glass balls and various other objects covered in barnacles. We bounced over something last night, but it was not very big. We are on the lookout for and large objects. If we do see anything large we are suppose to record the position and report it during our daily check in.
