A difficult winter
09 June 2014 | Jackie in UK
Jackie
It has been an amazing and sometimes challenging winter. We holed up in Marina Di Ragusa and were soon part of a thriving community of liveaboards.
Along with the routine maintenance jobs, making dinghy and hatch covers, mozzies netting and much more we squeezed in time to socialise. And was there a social scene or what?
Jackie joined the guitar group and then performed in a concert with the sailing Nomads. Great fun. However at Christmas it went a bit pear shaped and having fallen off her bike ( twice and no she was not drunk) she hurt her shoulder,
After a lot of tooing and froing she ended up in the UK for repair of the rotator cuff.painful and debilitating. ( you try pulling up trousers with one arm strapped to your body) .!
Anyway she remains in the UK trying to recover a bit of a hiccup after the physio forgot to mention not to use more than 10% power when doing prescribed exercise ending in a repeat tear of the ligament and putting her back 6 weeks!!!
Meantime Pete has moved Argonauta to Taromina where he will be helping a friend to set and manage the moorings until Jackie is able to return and hopefully sail again. The time frame is blurred so we will just have to see.
