‘Ocean Maiden ‘ left this morning for Itaparika in the late afternoon and we decided to stay as we wonted a matching clay pot for our cooker and thought that we might get one on Monday. Unfortunately there was no market on Monday so after a fruitless search we uped anchor and went a couple of miles down river to a waterfall in a cave that we had heard about from other friends. After ding hying ashore to a remote house behind Ilha dow Coelhos, occupied by one fisherman's family, we made our way into the jungle and being followed by the two young boys from the house. Soon the narrow little path forked and we had to ask the boys directions. They eagerly pointed to the right one and I told them to go ahead. 10 minutes later we where at the cave that had this hole in the ceiling where a generous amount of crystal clear water came down.We came prepared and had a lovely cooling shower with costumes. The two little boys were overjoyed with the tip we gave them shortly before getting back to the dinghy. The next morning we left at 6.30 with a strong current flowing out but no wind and motored all the way back to Itaparika. No sooner was the anchor in, we where in the water and swam over the Ocean Maiden for a chat and a lekker coffee.
