13 October 2012. Fishy Tales
Where having a drink about 1600 when I noticed the line was stiff, had taken the other one in as the wind was already getting very light. But it picked up again and we are doing 4 knots. Anyway a 1 meter Dorado was on it but about 10 meters from the boat he lifted his head out and spat the hook out. Oh well what can you do! Half an hour later I see the line stiff again and we have a Blue Marlin on. At first it looked small as the line was very long but, so I pulled him in aboard without the gaff, took the hook out and thru him back in. He was about 1.5 meters long and about 20 kg. Our freezer is still full lucky for him . Tonight we had a pasta dish, a Dorado Steak would have been good or Marlin.
5-8 knots wind will motor in the am. Isla Trinidade of coast of brazil.
