Finding my sea legs

My first full day on Emma was not very eventful and I couldn't have enjoyed it more. I still find the boat a bit intimidating but things become more familiar by the hour. I definitely appreciate Bob's patience with my ignorance.
I came to Emma by a stroke of luck. I'm an ER doc at Cottage Hospital and one of my colleagues sent out an email asking if anyone would be interested in sailing to La Paz. My wife was tremendously gracious, given that we have a 10 month baby girl, and gave me the go ahead to contact Bob. For some reason he was willing to take along a guy he had never met who had literally no useful sailing experience.
I spent much of my first day practicing my knots and staring out at the water. I caught two fish, but both turned out to be catch and release, only one of which was intentional. Hoping for some wind tomorrow.
Time for dinner. Does it get better than this?
