Great Weather & Great Friends

09 October 2010 | San Diego
Rod
We have finally arrived in San Diego after traveling over 2200 nautical miles (2530 statute miles) since leaving Olympia, Wa in May. Jane is amazed that we have sailed the entire West Coast of the United States and then some.
It seems almost a lifetime ago that we left.
We have visited with & met many new friends along the way, got to see family I haven't seen in years & now have the added benefit of sunshine in San Diego as fall begins to blanket the Pacific Northwest with clouds & colder weather.
We have had whales breach and almost hit the boat ( within 10 ft.), seen sealions jumping for joy, watched Sea Otters with their babies on their chest & had the rush of a thousand Common Dolphins escort us on our way while swimming under our boat to ride our bow wave. We have experienced the Pacific in a not so passive mood & seen the sunset in colors in such a way that pictures nor words can do it justice.... And to think that this is only the beginning.
We will be in San Diego until the last week of October when we will then begin the trek down the Baja Coast.
Hasta.
