Glitch, Things were going too well
03 June 2013 | Portsmouth, Virginia
All of a sudden our engine gurgled to a stop on a very narrow stretch and John had to rush forward and drop the anchor! After some checking, we realized we would have to be towed. There is a service like AAA for boats and It is well worth it when you get towed for an hour...We were delivered to a Yacht Center and marina across from downtown Norfolk in Portsmouth where all the big Navy ships are repaired. Our particular dock has lots of interesting neighbors, cruise, ferries, naval ships.
Since the service department here does not open until tomorrow, we have just enjoyed our interruption and met some great people. We think our problem is electrical, a fuel pump gone wrong so we have relaxed and kept busy washing down the boat, walking to a nearby restaurant for margaritas with some Navy nurses and ferried over to the other side.
Storm expected tonight so we literally battened down the hatches!
