Sailing Nokomis

The drive to Barker’s Island Marina was about half of that to Bayfield. So we enjoyed a summer of much less driving. We had friends and family join us as we explored around the harbor. We even had a weekend sail up to Two Harbors.

Destinations by sailboat on Lake Superior are so far from Duluth, that when we had a week trip on the boat, we went to – wait for it – the Apostle Islands! We anchored every night, caught up with friends on their boats, watched the 4th of July fireworks anchored off Bayfield’s harbor and explored more of the islands.
