Get sea legs - Check!
05 June 2013 | Baltimore Harbor revisited
Vicki
We are at anchor in Baltimore Harbor, without wifi. Tuesday we had the best weather possible. We left the dock at Crosshaven at 6:30 in the morning and put the anchor down at 6:30 in the evening. We flew the spinnaker almost the whole way, hardly had to motor at all. I was nervous about such a long sail for the first time out this season, so I took Bonine when I went to bed and again in the morning. It helped the seasickness a lot, but made me drowsy, so I spent a lot of the day napping on and off. I think I am ready for wave action now. But the sun was in our face and the wind at our back. We couldn't have asked for a nicer day.
We were so busy with boat chores before we left, that we are spending the day hanging around the boat, sorting through stuff, doing little tasks. I repaired my favorite tourist purse and put pulleys on the apparatus I use for aerial kite photography. Those kind of piddly tasks one never gets to, but hopes to. And Paul is playing chess with his cousin Tom, texting over the sat phone. Tomorrow we explore Long Island bay and find a new anchorage.
The picture - we made it into Baltimore and found wifi at a local cafe. But it was so sunny outside and we could not read our screen. Hence, hiding under the jacket for instant shade! The weather has been grand.
