Grand time with Ocean Cruising Club

I would like to thank Bill Rhode for encouraging us to join the Ocean Cruising Club. We have joined and have been sailing for the last while with their Scottish Rally. Almost a dozen boats have been sailing together and we have had the grandest of times. They are really a storehouse of information so we have learned a lot about sailing this area, and gotten many great ideas about winter storage for Nokomis. Still not sure where that will be but now we have some ideas. Plus, they are really an entertaining group of people, common interests, but also many other interests. I think we have become known as those nuts who like to anchor in really shallow water. We always seem to be the boat closest to shore.
The picture is of the Paps mountains on Jura Islands. This is a tricky area to sail - the tides themselves aren't so high but the current through the islands can be quite strong. On this day we hit 10.6 knots over ground, but only 5 knots through the water. Quite a boost!
