Outer Hebrides

The sail from the inner to the outer Hebrides started out great - a wonderful downwind sail with our yellow and black spinnaker up. And then it went downhill, having to do a slog to windward and having equipment problems. The shackle that holds the main sheet to the traveler snapped. It was hanging on one side, just enough to keep it all together, but Paul had to do a quick-fix with line so it couldn't fly apart. That would have been really bad!
Once we pulled into the anchorage, all was good. I know Lake Superior is beautiful, and I appreciate having sailed there. But every anchorage here just keeps getting better and more beautiful. We are at Loch Skipport on the island of South Uist. It has several bays with good anchorages and we are in Wizard Hole. A seal pup was on a rock, and as the tide goes out, the pup stayed put as mom went out for food. Tide comes back in, mom comes back, and off they go.
