A walk in Constable country

13 November 2013 | Manningtree
Vicki
John Constable is an early 1800’s artist from this area – Suffolk and Essex. He is one of the important British painters. Many of his paintings were of Dedham vale and so we took the train to Manningtree, hiked across the vale to Dedham and back to the train station. We saw many of the sights that are in his paintings and took pictures of the wonderful scenery and lighting. We have seen several of his paintings in Ipswich and Cambridge and hope to see more at the Victoria and Albert Art Museum in London.
