Off to the Isle of Man

Monday we did not time entirely right with the tidal currents and had a couple of hours of barely making 3 knots. We normally average close to 6 knots so you know how frustrating Monday was. Tuesday we got up early, caught 6 hours of the tidal current heading south and then nosed up into a bay and laid down the anchor for 6 hours. We rested, ate, played cribbage. Then we pulled up the anchor and headed south again to our final anchorage at Ardglass Bay. It was after 11:00 at night and twilight was waning, which is a hard way to go into an unknown anchorage. And then we were off again at 6:00 a.m. We caught the wind and tide right. As we sailed around the southern end of the Isle of Man, we had a sustained 9 plus knots of boat speed, what a joy! That is a feisty 9.8 knots of boat speed you see in the picture.
