We have arrived at Concarneau, and just sailing up to the port, we could tell by the architecture that we are no longer in England. The marina is under the walled-in old city. It is a tourist area, crammed full of interesting shops. I can report the the crepe and the chocolate stores are excellent! Our dock neighbors invited us to an evening concert there. It was a Brittany Celtic group, rocking music. It sounded like music we heard in Newfoundland, Ireland and Scotland. Except it was in French. The men, surprisingly, were wearing kilts.
I spent a couple of hours at the laundromat, which was okay because it gave me an opportunity to meet some people. And how did I get to meet them? Well, the machines are front-loading and I managed to get a piece of clothing stuck in the bottom of the door. Which meant it leaked water all over, I thought I would be able to go swimming. So people helped me out, calling on their cell phones to the manager. It was quite an event, albeit embarrasing for me.
