Sailor pilgrimage

Yesterday Paul, Nick and I took the train up to Santiago de Compostela. The cathedral was built around 1200 and St. James is the patron saint. The cathedral has been the goal of many pilgrims for several centuries. The routes begin in Paris, Vezelay, Le Puy or Montpellier. Most people hike it, but now some people ride mountain bikes, we saw both hikers and bikers in the town. We also ate some excellent seafood paella.
Today Nick has left, off on his adventure to Bilboa, Barcelona and beyond. It was great sharing this part of the trip with someone who has some much energy and excitement toward adventure.
