How we spent our summer vacation

Being retired in Florida is not all fun and sun. With the exception of taking time off to visit family and friends back home and taking a short trip to St. Petersburg, we spent the majority of our time working on boat projects. Below is a list of the more significant and time consuming projects we completed. 0. Buy, finish, & install cockpit table
1. Design & machine reinforced companionway locking hasp
2. Design, build, & install security bars to companionway and hatch
3. Install low mast steps for Cheryl to climb
4. Drill/install additional 12VDC receptacles
5. Replace serial DB25 wall plate with USB dual plate
6. Install Bilge water alarm and wire base to AC
7. Install LPG gas detector
8. Install LEDS in engine room
9. Mount/wire transom boarding light ; install switch/remote
10. Replace green led indicator 120AC-top "Outlet" breaker
11. Rework overhead lamps to make LED
12. Replace transom shower valve
13. Insert new electrical panel retaining screw
14. Buy & install new GFCI on starboard
15. Mount EPIRB
16. Add hydrofoil to Yamaha outboard/test
17. Repair head sail luff
18. Repair Stack Pak zipper back
19. Get repair of large snap, strbd base of dodger
20. Paint chain marks (after Ospho)
21. Replace foam for perch seats
22. Create sunbrella covers for water, fuel, gas tanks
23. Create sunbrella cover for Lifesling
24. Replace water tank 1 inspection port
25. Polish fuel
26. Evacuate all water from tanks and clean
27. Rebuild outboard motors
28. Buy numerous spare parts (engine, pumps, watermaker, outboard engines)
29. Painting anchor chain
30. Turn on and test Satphone (voice, email, SSB)
Of course, we still managed to spend time with good friends at the marina most evenings.
We are looking forward to our next chapter of cruising... Bahamas and beyond.
