Cherry Cove & The Isthmus

After settling in, we heard someone yelling for us. Went topside, to find Mike P from Susan E and his crew waiting to visit. They were soon joined by Mark Haigler. We all sat in the salon swapping stories and enjoying a bottle of Nigori Sake. Yum!
Each weekday, John spent working his "day job" from 6am until 2pm. This is one of the challenges that we have been able to meet since moving onto the boat. We gotta work as we go. We were happy to find that the Isthmus has 3G connectivity and working was not only easy, but quite enjoyable.
The second afternoon brought more socializing and an ice cream social onshore. We basically spent the entire next week's afternoons and evenings snorkeling, visiting, drinking "Buffalo Milks" (the local alcoholic milk shake), playing volleyball and sharing stories. The best part was meeting other sailors on their cruisers and hearing their stories and advice on what one really needs for cruising. One yacht, Lahaina Roads, shared their experiences coming through the Panama Canal. Great "current" information! We made fast friends and plan to visit with them back in San Diego.
The second week included a visit for 2 days from our wonderful friends from our early days in Capetown, South Africa...Pete & Muffy Jefferies. They spent 2 days with us and helped to break-in the forepeak for future visitors.
We left at 4am on Saturday, August 4th to return to San Diego. Of course, we were told that going home was the best part because we'd be able to sali...alas, the wind switched to southerly, so motor on we did.
