The water was about 63 degrees, but we all went in!! Breath-taking, paralyzingly cold, and frigid were just a few of the comments!!

Sometimes the seven mile wide lake is like glass and your boat is all the waves there are. A spectacular crossing from Essex, NY to Burlington, VT.

We first met Cleo (Mike and Catherine) in St. Jean, Quebec in early August. They were heading north to Montreal, and we were heading south to Burlington. Since then, we have talked many times by e-mail, phone, and ship radio. We crossed paths again today as Cleo was heading to the Champlain Canal and then on to Florida, and we are heading north to be in Burlington, VT on Saturday. We hail each other on the VHF radio's, take a few pictures, and promise to meet again. It's a small world of lasting friendships!
