Making progress... CSY Walkthru project

09 April 2010
3/23 - 4/9, 2010
It's been incredibly busy and progress is slow but steady. I finally had a chance to sit down and update the blog for those who may be interested. I also use the blog to document progress on projects for my own record. After splashing the boat, I moved the boat to my slip on the Okeechobee Waterway. I then proceeded to refurbish the mast and standing rigging. I started with cutting down the height back to the standard rig of 54' above the water, had the masthead welded along with new spreader brackets. Then all new LED lights and all new wiring including heavy guage VHF antenna coax cable. I also added a hailer speaker up on the mast about a third of the way up. A coat paint primer and 2 coats of paint, she looks brand new. Next was replacing all the shrounds of 3/8" and 5/16" ss 1x19 wire and new Sta-Lok wedges.
Stepping the mast went very well, I had the rig ready to hoist with everything laid out in it's proper position. I only had one problem of one of the lazy threading out of the cheeck block so I've got to go up the mast in the future.
