larry's arrival meant weeks of non stop sailing diving sailing diving drinking etc. he brought his crazy level of excitement to the event and we sailed more miles per day than any other leg. here we are coming back from one of many daily 50nm round trip dive trips. by the time larry had left we where both singing the jimmy buffet song "i cant run at this pace very long"

karli joined palapa for her first sail aboard in the whitsundays. her favorite spot was whitdunday beach where she actually got me to go for a walk on the beautifull long white beach. she learned to drive the boat on the way back in some pretty "fresh" weather. other higlights included oysters on hamilton island.

Jan's adventure started in bundenberg and she enjoyed great weather and a great sail up to hamilton island. adventures included braving a 35 kt storm in a lagoon the first night and the invention of the breakfast bear and chips meal! alas it was raining when we arrived in hamilton but she had a great time exploring the "avalon on steriods" island.

so phase II of the palapa journy started with frank flying into brisbane between his old and new job. it was time to get out of brisbane as it was cold and rainy for much of franks visit but frank was coming from the bay area so his weather expectations where not high. we had some great food and made it up to bundenberg with no major issues (other than wrapping the jenny)
