In March we sailed to the Exumas with our friends on Sea Bonds. We left Little Harbour, Abaco, and sailed south across the Atlantic to Eleuthera, then across the Exuma Sound to Exuma Park at Warderick Wells. Next we sailed to Staniel Cay, Exumas, where our son Anthony and his girl friend, Lee, joined us. We took them to see the swimming pigs at Big Majors Spot and the sharks at Sampson and Compass Cays. We also dived in Thunderball Grotto, the scene of a James Bond movie, and fed the hundreds of little fish in the cave. After Anthony and Lee left, we visited Bitter Guana Cay and the colony of iguanas there. We enjoyed the clear, warm waters of the Exumas. The photo is of Charlie making friends with an iguana. We celebrated our 36th anniversary by attending the Barefoot Man concert on March 2, 2008, at Nipper's Bar on Great Guana Cay. Earlier, we attended the Commodore's Ball of the Royal Marsh Harbour Yacht Club. Then our friends Bruce and Wynne Busman joined us for visits to Pete's Pub in Little Harbour and Hope Town; they also attended the Barefoot Man concert. Next trip: the Exumas in southern Bahamas. We left Green Turtle in late January when the wind and seas died down enough to make passage into the Atlantic around Whale Cay possible. We motored to Marsh Harbour, where we anchored out for a few days, then moved into Harbour View Marina. From here we can take trips to the other islands and around Great Abaco Island. We have already taken a car trip to Pete's Pub in Little Harbour for Pete's annual birthday bash and a ferry trip to Hope Town. The main photo is of the beach and reef at Little Harbour, Abaco.
