Heading for the Bahia Los Angeles on the Baja today. The Norther has passed and we are getting a little bit of cabin fever. We were going to Puerto Refugio on the north end of the big island but I wasn’t sure we could get decent shelter from the north, so plans changed with the weather. Bahia LA is a big bay with a small settlement. It is used a lot by cruisers who spend the summer in the Sea—above the Hurricane line—usually—and a little cooler. We were expecting some good wind coming in again in the next day, so motoring about 3 miles over to Puerto Don Juan, one of the premier “hurricane holes” in the Sea. Like the pond but much larger, it is almost fully enclosed from any winds.
