Three of us occupied the bay: Jupiter’s Smile a IP 370 like us with Barb and Jay from Colorado , hull #4 (we are hull #28) and Argo, a Erickson 32 with Linda and Craig from Tucson. We all anchored in 3 slightly different areas with our own theory in mind. Jay anchored in the window where he got all the wind (in the 30s) but always held in one position. Craig and I looked for some shelter behind hills and got good protection from the wind but were moved in separate ways all over by the current created by the tides augments by the storm surge whipping around the bay. I think Jay had the best location.
We enjoyed the breaks in the wind and managed cocktails and visits most days. Always a great time trading stories. So much to learn by just listening. Jay and Barb had cruised the Caribbean, the gulf of Mexico, transited the canal and then sailed up to the Sea. Craig and Linda knew the upper end of the Sea but this was their first trip south from Rocky Point at the head of the Sea of Cortez.
