Wedding Anniversary (Saturday, 12/12/09)

13 December 2009 | La Paz, MX
Meri
Jim and I celebrate our 11th married year together today, and like last year, aboard Windfall. We never have bought expensive gifts for one another, mainly because Christmas is right around the corner and our practicality outweighed our sentimentality. But this year (like last year) we will buy no gifts at all... for several reasons. The first and most important is that we have limited space on Windfall for more things ans stuff... I'd have to reorganize the kids' cubbies or worse... Jim would have an excuse to toss Carolyne's colossal sea shell collection and rock collection to make room. In addition, we really don't feel the need to buy 'things', especially if we don't need them. And finally, we are on a budget, a budget that has only one goal... so that we can extend our cruising time. Oh, Jim and I will do something special, of course. We may go out for a nice sit-down dinner together (v.s. the 5 peso taco stands) and I may even order something on the menu we've never heard of... it makes it just that more exciting. I will put on a cute skirt and makeup and will make an effort at styling my hair instead of just tossing it up haphazardly in a clippy.
