Starting the leg to the South Broughtons

23 June 2013 | First Pancake Breakfast on the Meeting Place Dock, Shawl Bay
The bakers have arrived at Shawl Bay for the Season!! Misty and Curtis got their baking on last night and treated us through the Happy Hour! I have a loaf of bread with my name on it to take away this morning - this is exciting - you cannot imagine unless you have eaten for two or more weeks from ship's stores, just how exciting an egg, or a potato or onion, or BREAD, can be!

We are encouraging everyone to come over here and give Misty's production a try! Since we first arrived three weeks ago, the transformation for the season is continuing at Shawl Bay - water fountains are everywhere, the flowers are blooming all along the walks, and there are carvings up done by a boater from the lower mainland that are very nice! Of course we stayed for the pancakes this morning, and I will just say that the internet here is the best in the Broughtons - this is the place to do your online work to keep the bills paid - you won't be disconnected in the middle of a transaction.

We are headed for Viner Sound, and then the southern Broughtons if the weather holds.

About:
After the female half of the team said, "Where in the world can you go in a boat?' in 1993, we have been answering that question every year. First in our 24' Newport Neptune, "Fingerling " here in the North Sound and San Juans. [...]
Extra: Raleigh is retired, and the alarm clock just stopped tolling for me, so this trip is one we've waited years to take. We are hoping to see the places we have read about these long years waiting for retirement to happen.
