Things break on a boat sometimes, usually at the most inopportune time (Murphy's Law). While replacing our Depth Sounder the transducer began to weep (leak) water into the bilge (not a good thing) and we had to make some hasty artrangements to replace it. This is a tough time of year for the yards with many boats returning to the water, but they squeezed us in at the end of the day with the demand that we splash again first thing in the morning. They didn't even take us out of the slings!! Carrie and I worked late that evening to remove the old transducer and replace it with a spare we had onboard. We knew that spare would come in handy someday! Everyone held their breath as the boat re-entered the water that the new installation wouldn't leak and so far, the water is staying on the outside (touch wood!). On to the next project and some more relaxing at anchor.
