A short travel day. We anchored across from one of the largest marinas I have ever seen! The Charleston Municipal Marina's byline is "Home of the Megadock". Too big to be very personable.
Everything is slower when you're cruising. We find a bus or walk to the sights because paying for a taxi isn't in the budget. We've located the downtown college library as an oasis from the heat and portal to the Internet and will venture into the Marketplace on the waterfront (on the other side of the penninsula from the marina) later on.
After asking a few locals we found some directions and help on making our short stay fun and memorable. The kitties are hiding out in their coolest spots on the boat with the wind scoop trying to feed enough breeze down below for them during this hot August afternoon.
The engine is working well after the repairs (keep the fingers crossed) and tomorrow we'll continue to head north to the Chesapeake!!
