Today both Carrie and I signed up for temporary work in connection with the Annapolis Sail and Power Boat shows in an effort to add some funds to our cruising "Kitty". We've ordered new sails here in Annapolis and will be either modifying or replacing our refrigeration system while we're here, and some extra income will certainly help defray the cost of these expensive items.

We've met several cruisers while in town who are also working the show and discovered that the Boat Show here depends largely on cruisers for the temporary help they need from year to year. Some of the supervisory positions are held by cruisers who have worked this opportunity for several years now.

We will be helping to set up, modify and take down the many tents, booths and support structures needed for the biggest boat shows in the country that happen here every year.

We start work at the end of the month and will be working 13 hour days through the middle of October, when we and many other cruisers will be heading south. We are hopeful that we will be able to head from here to south Florida and make the jump over to the Bahamas for the winter months.
