Bobovisce (Bo-bo-veesch-cheh), Again!
21 September 2009
After big goodbyes to Jennifer at the Split airport, we left Trogir's town mooring area to join pals Sandra and Chris in the nearby and very pretty bay of Razetinovac for two nights. The water was cool and clear for swimming and the evenings delightful with our good friends and fine feasts, not at all unusual for these buddy boat galleys.
On Sunday morning we wanted a change of scenery and chose Bobvisce for our last of the season raft-up. Just like the week before, we found our "hole" and the two boats were snug in mud and ready for a shore-side excursion. With the charterers and cruisers mostly gone, we had the place virtually to ourselves ... even the Boules court! So, after a lazy afternoon of beading (jewelry making) for the girls and tuning (rigging adjustment) for he guys, the competition was on! [Deep] Blue Vs. [Sangaris] Red were "neck-in-neck", until the final round when the Blues pulled ahead 13 to 11 ... a close and fun game!
A farewell dinner, complete with Sandra's homemade profiteroles, brought a festive end to the day and our many wonderful sailing rendezvous throughout the summer. Following a tricky unwinding of wrapped anchor chains we both availed ourselves of free dock-side water tank fills at the town quay, shared hugs all around and then were off in our separate directions, Team Blue to Hvar, Dubrovnik and on to Malta, team Red north through the Kornati islands and up to the Istrian peninsula. Until we meet again ... likely in Croatian next summer!
Cruisers Note: Both Razetinac and Bobovisce provided good protection and holding in mud, especially "Bobo" where we went into the 3 meter area in the north bay, inside the other anchored boats and moored local dinghies. You can easily row ashore from there and take the pretty waterside walk to town (aone small market, one café and, at times, two restaurants) or dinghy around and tie to the quay. Waste disposal and recycling are not far from the end of the quay as is the Boules court!
