April 28th.... Hope Town, Elbow Cay
We listened to Chris Parker who told us that it was windy in the Bahamas. The Windbugger has been generating between 5 and 10 amps an hour for the last week.
Power has not been a problem. The ocean is rough. Waves are between 10 and 12 feet with a 5 second interval.
I called Hope Town Cart rentals and made arrangements for them to meet me at the post office at ten thirty. With Kim back in Colorado, there were only 5 of us and we all squeezed on the cart for a tour of the island. We drove south along the ocean and stopped a couple of times to watch the waves crash. Then we drove on down to Tahiti Beach where we hiked the shore for a while.
I found some palm fronds and we wandered around for awhile.
We drove back to the Sea Spray Marina and checked it out and then on to the Abaco Inn for some lunch. After a slow drive back to town we dropped Nancy and Jim and then walked to the Sea Food shop to purchase a few crab claws.
On our way back to the boat we stopped by the Hope Town Marina and paid our mooring fees and then spent what was left of the afternoon reading.
