I took off in the morning to check email at Island Breeze and picked up some things we had forgotten at the grocery yesterday. Then returned to the boat and made pizza for lunch. Kathy spent the morning cleaning and most of the afternoon working on stainless.
We were hosting a party on board this afternoon so I put together some black eyed pea salad to use a dip... I made it a week ago for Bob's birthday and it tasted so good that I made it again for a new audience.
At high tide in the afternoon Barry and I joined Steve and Kim to take "fine Lion" to the fuel dock. It's about a three mile trip but there isn't much water near the dock and high tide is the only time sailboats can approach. We filled "Fine Lion" and Barry and I each got a jerry can or two to top off our tanks as well.
Barry came over a little early and helped me move our Nissan outboard, which we won't be using for a while up the port side anchor locker. It barely fit but by moving things around we made room.
Besides the regulars, we invited Doug and Sharon from "About Time" to join us and as always... ate too much and had a great time.
Ya think?

On Thursday the six of us left our boats at 7:30 and dinghied down to Long Island Breeze. Steve had picked up our van yesterday and parked it there to make things a little easier. In no time we were loaded up and heading to Kim's doctor appointment. We parked in clinic lot a little early but in a few minutes other folks started to roll in to see the doctor who flies in on Thursdays from Nassau.
When we were ready to leave, the rental car wouldn't start. The starter would click but didn't have enough energy to turn the engine over. There was a guy there picking up his kids to take to school who got some jumper cables out of someone else's car and then pulled his truck in beside us to give us a jump. It took a few minutes but eventually we got the van started and headed back to Fox Auto, where it came from. Alton but a load tester on our battery and then drove home to get another to swap out. In a few minutes we were on our way again.
Heading south down the island we stopped at various stores. Some were new to us and others we'd been to in the past. When we were close to the very southern end of Long Island (where there is nothing for miles) we came upon a tiny building by the side of the road with the sign Goat Pond Bay painted on the side. There was a car there and a lady was opening up the shutters that served as windows. We had to stop. Although it was early most of us had a beer and chatted with the proprietor, who was actually filling in for her mother who owns the establishment.
From there we continued to the end of the Island, parked and walked the beach for a while.
On our trip back north we stopped a Max's Conch Bar for a late lunch and then back to Salt Pond for some shopping. We all of our errands finished we returned to the dinghies while Steve and Kim took the van back to Fox Auto
We spent the remainder of the afternoon reading and then watched a movie in the evening.

It was calm this morning so at about 9am we headed for Long Island Breeze to get some laundry finished. By about 11 the place was hopping with folks taking advantage of the pool and stopping by for lunch. There was a photo walk led by Jim of "Salty Paws" leaving from the resort and the participants were taking photos of everything.
We spoke with Susan from "Night Hawk" and they were on their way from Georgetown. After lunch we saw them in the distance so we loaded up our clean clothes and headed out to meet them. We ran into a squall and had to make a beeline to "Sapphire" to keep things dry.
We spent some time reading and made some coleslaw which we took over "Fine Lion" for dinner. Steve grilled some potatoes and mahi, which we had with some green beans and Kathy's slaw. It was a great meal as usual and we had lots of fun catching up with Barry and Susan.
Steve and Kim came in before lunch and we joined them for the day's special of Lobster Fettuccini.

Really didn't do too much on Monday and Tuesday....we were both reading some good books and we did do some boat projects, but in general laziness was the rule. The race from Georgetown to Thompson's Bay was entertaining. Both listening on the radio and watching the finish from the boat.
On Tuesday we went ashore for a beach party with the Georgetown folks. I talked with some folks from Muskegon and a couple from the UP. We had a good time, but the group is way too organized for our taste. "Tilt" was there and a few other friends ... so it was nice to touch base with them.
We didn't stay too long and returned to listen to the Spartans get spanked in Madison.
