Feb. 7 Warderick Wells ,

Today we were up at 5am due to severe rolling. Chris Parker was on at 6:30 and Cruiseheimers at 8:30. We heard Discovery departing for the Caribbean and hope to wish them luck before they are out of radio range. At 9am the Park Headquarters called to confirm that we were interested in a mooring.at about 9:30 they called again to give us our mooring assignment. The trip south was only about 8 miles but we had to go almost that far west to clear some serious shoals. By about 1pm we were there after a motor-sail into the wind most of the way.

At about 4 we took the dinghy to park headquarters to sign in and then returned to the boat. We received a VHF invitation form "Princess" (who are good friends of Jim and Beth of "Madcap") to join them for snacks at 5:00, so it was a quick shower on the foredeck before we left. "Princess" is a 40 foot Hinkley and Steve and Sandy are wonderful hosts. We made plans for a hike and picnic tomorrow.

.By the way Randy, we dove on the plane wreck in the cove at Normans Island. It is not a small plane and is currently home to some nice looking fish. The story goes that the pilot was approaching the runway when we found that his landing gear would not go down. After failing to make it work he set the plane down in the cove that parallels the runway and swam away unscathed.
