April 26...
After coffee and some eggs, I headed over to "Restless" to gather some water while they were still at the dock. We ran a few errands but mostly spent the day reading. The highlight of the day were the sailboat races that took place in our anchorage.
Marsh Harbour is roughly a mile wide and maybe two miles long with boat anchored throughout. There were two classes of boats racing...sunfish and optimists, probably about 60 in all. The race was set up so that they had to sail through the anchored boats. The better racers uses the anchored boats to their advantage sometimes tacking just a couple of feet before a major crash. One of the "not so good racers" without a window in his sail, actually hit us. It wasn't a big problem but his boom ran the length of Sapphire clanging on our stanchions.
At about 5pm we went over to "Restless" who had anchored nearby, for snacks and drinks. Also invited were Graham and Valerie from "Bonnie Lass." We had a great time as always when meeting new folks with whom we have lots in common.
