More rain. We had thunderstorms all night on and off, and well into the morning. Between showers I went to shore for some ice but hurried back to avoid a soaking. We've had the makings for mince-meat pie all winter so after lunch mixed up some dough and made a pie. Rolling it the dough turned out to be a challenge but with Kathy's help we got it done.
Later I needed a break from the boat and went in again and met Steve and Kim for a beer at Snappers. When we returned to the boats there was a small break in the weather so the four of us explored the south end of the harbor in dinghies for 30 minutes or so before the next black cloud started to bear down on us.... it was back to the boat at full throttle to avoid another drenching.
After dinner Steve and Kim came over for dessert which turned out way better than anticipated. They went to shore to listen to some music and we turned on the Red Wings only to have them give the game away in overtime after a nice come-back in the third period.

It was yet another grey, rainy day here in the Abacos. After coffee and breakfast, I started researching the problem with the refrigerator. The trouble shooting ideas that came with the unit was helpful and after a couple of hours it was evident that either the compressor or the control module were not working.
So we moved everything from our freezer over to "Fine Lion" and I headed to shore between thunderstorms to pick up a couple of bags of ice. It seems that we will be in ice-box mode until we can get a replacement.
I spent the afternoon on line and comparing prices. I haven't ordered anything yet but am planning to ship a unit to Charleston and install it when we arrive there.
We spent the afternoon reading, and Kathy made roast beef for dinner which was excellent. Later we watched "Grand Torino", which Steve and Kim had sent over the day before.
It's a little like being at the mall . . .

This is also the only traffic light we see in the Bahamas and it is the only traffic light on Abaco.

I made cheese grits and poached eggs for breakfast which really tasted good to me for some reason. The morning was stormy again but later is stopped raining and the sun came out occasionally. I made a water run which topped off our tank again. We will leave here the first time we have a half way decent day and I'd like to be full when that day arrives.
We had some leftovers for lunch and then packed up for a trip to town. After dumping our trash we walked over to the boating store and I picked up a spray container of rust remover that Steve likes. Then it was on to the grocery store for a few staples. On the way back we bought some beer and then I ran everything back to boat and unloaded. Meanwhile Kathy was going to walk down to Snapper's where we'd agreed to meet Steve and Kim. There have really good Bloody Mary's there so I ordered one and waited. Kathy should have arrived long before I did but there was no sign of her.
Steve showed up a little later to say that Kathy had walked back to the grocery with Kim for the exercise. They arrive a little later and we hung out there for a while before heading back to the boats to put things away.
Steve and Kim returned a little later and we ended up making stroganoff for dinner which we served with some broccoli.
Later we noticed that our refrigerator wasn't working. We've had this problem before a couple of times, and by moving a connection in the thermostat have always be able to get it cooling again. Tonight that wasn't going to be the case. I assume that the problem is in the thermostat, but will wait until morning to look into it.
