This is a test post that includes a tweet from the remote processor. The goal here is to provide a way for people using the remote system to also update their twitter status along with a blog post. By combining a new field into the remote posting system, the sender can update their blog, map and twitter status all with a single send. When dealing with extremely expensive sat connections, making a single send can save a lot of money when updating from very remote places.
In addition, a lot of other systems (i.e. facebook) already pull from twitter as well, so a single tweet sent in via the remote email system can have a cascade effect of notifications.
This will be rolled out to the pro-level expedition users in the coming weeks, than probably to SailBlogs members later in the summer.
Thanks to
David Walsh for a great little function to build tiny urls on the fly...
