The day began with a trip to find a dentist.... John broke a crown while we were at sea. We asked around and were told that there was a dentist close to the pharmacy. Off to the pharmacy. Non, non, says the pharmacist... you must go back to the bridge, make a left, then a right.... Then she drew us a map... LOL!
It was so funny, I had to take a picture of it. I can't believe that we actually found the dentist's home. We walked up to the door and out he came.
The dentist did not speak any English, so we tried to pick up on some words.
We think he said, "Let me have a look", because he grabbed John's face, turned it to him and started sticking his fingers into his mouth!
Nope, nothing he could do. That was easy to decipher since he just turned around and went back to the patient he had in the chair, and closed the door. Oh well, we will try again somewhere else. Time to start a tour of Nuku Hiva.
We drove another road today. This one took us way high up in the mountains.
Yup, I was on the edge looking down to get a great shot...
like this!
We went down to the beach to have a look at the marina. These are concrete stairs that have seen a lot of wave action over the decades.
This structure was right by the boat ramp... anyone care to guess what it was/is? We were stumped!
Back into the car and back to driving. We drove a road like this for an hour ...
to get to a view like this!
The views have been spectacular! There just aren't any words to describe what we have been seeing. "Look where we are!"
