Enough time spent on land? Time to head south to the boat. She's been alone for about 8 months.... feels very strange.
We jump into "the black Jeep in the family" and start south. First stop? Why Seattle of course! We hung out with Melinda, Lanham & Barbara (who is the photographer).
We left Seattle with talk of having everyone come down for a visit this season.
On to Salem, Oregon to see Julie & Greg. We had a lovely time with the newly engaged couple. We will see them in La Paz!
While in Salem, we dropped in on Judy & Jim our GMC Motorhome friends. We enjoyed a beautiful lunch and lots of conversation.
Still in Oregon - our next stop, Grant's Pass, the "Garage Mahal" and our hosts Sharon & John.
For all you car nuts, the Garage Mahal is like no place you have ever been, except maybe in your mind's eye...
Here is a peek ...
Yes, that is a lift.... and yes, those are 1960's Mustangs!
This place far out does any "man cave" - its got everything - heat, A/C, car lift, space for 5 cars, a bar, a shower/washroom, a loft with a king size bed & a sewing area in the loft for Sharon. Whew! And I might add, that the Garage Mahal is immaculate!
Time to make some miles - our next stop is San Rafael, CA. We will visit with Billie & Donald and their puppy Asher. They also have a GMC Motorhome, Slow Mover.
We all had fun in San Rafael! Pep-Eh & Asher had a blast together.
Donald & John toast our arrival - Landing Gin!
San Rafael is close to Napa. Napa city has a marina. In the marina is a Hylas 42. Of course we drive out to meet Steve and his 1987 Hylas 42.
She is 1987 and hull # 10.
Pep-Eh the boat dog is right at home!
San Rafael is so well situated that we met up with Sharon & Patrick in Berkeley, CA. The Ray Ban brothers ham it up!
We were starting to feel right at home... this cutie caught our eyes.
EEK! We must hit the road and continue south. We will see you again Billie, Donald & Asher!
Next stop was San Clemente to drop in on Kathy & Al. Al was in La Paz when we drove through. We had so much fun, we forgot to take any photos... next time! We will see them in La Paz too.
On to San Diego! We stopped for lunch at Solana Beach and met up with Christine & Eric.
We were only 45 minutes after a lovely lunch and we were in San Diego! We met the crew of Giada Marina for dinner and the best pizza ever!
This trip down to the border has been very special. We have said "see you later" to our friends that we will see again on our way back north and "see you soon" to our friends that will be in La Paz soon. We are very fortunate to have met all these wonderful friends on our travels!
