How it all Started
Scott
04/30/2007, St. Martin Na

It all started like this.... We were on vacation in St. Martin, NA. Any time were there, we always make reservations on BlueBeard III trip to prickly pair for a day of drinks, snorkeling and fun. While on BlueBeard, we happened to meet a couple from South Africa (Hugh and Glyn) and started chatting with them. They owned a sailboat (s/v pizzazz) and were starting to plan a crossing. They were visiting some other friends who lived on board in the Carribean. At days end, we all wound up in a pub having a few more drinks and were exchanging tales of sailing etc. I remember being in awe of decisions that our new friends had made. Patrick owned a sailboat earlier in his life and has always wanted to sail. I enjoy sailing but had limited experience. Patrick eventually leaned over and said "we can do this too you know". I remember the thought being scary at first, however, after some thought I thought "Yes we can do this". We then began discussions of what we each wanted in a boat and began our search.
