We finally left the Miami Area and are now headed back north. It is a bitter sweet departure! We met so many great people while in Miami and will miss them tremendously, however, it was time to leave. We will be back!!!!! We are currently in Jenson Beach and hope to be in Melbourne or Cocoa by the weekend. We have learned to use the tides to our advantage and that is really helpful. We have long days and short days and this will continue on for the next several days to come. Today was a short day, with only 6 bridges and a pretty rough inlet. Anyone who plans to travel through Jupiter inlet, be aware there are 2 bridges on either side of the inlet that rise very slowly. We planned it at a slack high tide and it was not to bad. On the way down, we almost took out the Jupiter Federal bridge the current was so strong! On the positive side, they have dredged the inlet and there is good water through the inlet now. A cold front is scheduled to arrive sometime on Sunday, so we will most likely head to a marina for a couple of days. For those who are monitoring this, I will do better of posting stuff - I have been slack!

We continue to stay in Miami, exploring different parts of the city. Prior to coming here, we had heard of many negative experiences, however, that has not been the case for us. For example, in South Beach, the local water police told us about the favored local bar where beer from all over the world is sold for $3.00. And also what restaurants are good and which to avoid. Over the past weekend, Patricks Brother and sister in law, Richard and Judy spent the weekend on board Second Wind. We had a great sail in Biscayne Bay, we wanted to stay the night at no name harbor, however, it was full, so we went to Virginia Key for the night, then on to South Beach on Saturday Night. We ate way too much, and enjoyed each others company. It was a great weekend. We are currently at Mia Marina for the night and then will go back to anchor for a while. Stay tuned.....

We have been in Miami for several weeks now and we have fallen in love with this area. It is so nice to be in an area where you are accepted for who you are. We have enjoyed the beaches, nightlife, and the people we have met have been fantastic. Thank you Michael and Kathy from the Laundry Bar! Yall have been great! From where we are anchored, we have access to Miami Beach, Virginia Key, Key Biscayne, Miami (downtown) and Coconut Grove, What else could you ask for! This has been an absolutely enjoyable experience. We plan to stay several more weeks before moving on. The weather patterns continue to be erratic with one front moving in after another, however, we could not imagine a better place to hold over! We still have several places we would like to visit before moving on. More to come.
