The permanent defeats at Scrabble and the loss of the title 'Queen of Scrabble' are more than I can bear. So today, instead of floating around in calm waters in the 3rd race of the Almond Blossom Series, I challenged the toughest opponents amongst the Lagos Navigators: Jac from Quo Vadis and Alison and Phil from Bagheera. The battle took place under a blue sky, in bright sunshine in the cockpit of their beautiful Hallberg-Rassy 42. Two rounds later I had one win and one third place (I beat Phil on both occasions!) and the accumulated total of 301 made me the overall winner of that battle round. Some pride has been restored. It was great fun and we will repeat that, when James is back. The usual: 'Scrabbler's against the rest of the world!'
