We survived our first night on the river! The anchor held nicely and we were swinging round and round in circles, getting very dizzy with an ice-cold beer, BBQed tuna steaks, watching the sun set in beautiful scenery. We barricaded ourselves in against mozzies with nets over all the windows, burned anti-mozzi candles and coils with the result that the remaining resident mozzies from the Ria Formosa went suicidal and gorged themselves to death on our blood. Got at least 6 bites each! Mad birds woke us at silly o'clock by sitting on that new island mid-river (us) and tweeting like crazy. Don't they know James is on holiday and wants to sleep in? Is there a flag for that we could hoist?
Now we are waiting for the water to come back up the river so we can drift to Pomarão tonight to watch the game with 60ct beers at hand, discovered by SY Awake.
