03 September 2016 | Rubicon Marina, Playa Blanca
Gillian
We had a pleasant night sailing until about 4am when we realised that we were about to enter a military prohibition zone - didn't want to get shot so changed course and motor sailed until we were past the restriction zone. Then back to sailing in really light winds and moving at times only between 2 and 3 knots. We were in no hurry as we wanted to approach Rubicon in daylight. We arrived in very calm conditions just after nine this morning and are now settled in our berth, after some tapas for lunch and a siesta.
This marina is set among myriads of restaurants and apartments. There is a lovely pool which we have use of and a beach nearby, so a pretty good spot. Hopefully it won't be too noisy at night.
We intend staying here for at least a month as Neil has a business trip to attend to and we need to haul the boat out to do some much needed maintenance.
