Day 16 Tenerife to Barbados

Things are on the up and up. No major drama except for a torrential rain shower and gusts up to 28 knots. This time we were prepared with a third reef and we had our wet weather gear on. After that the night settled into normal watch routine and we woke to a partly cloudy morning with some promises of sun. Jane and I completed the repairs to the jib and we hoisted it this afternoon. A lot of work but all went quite smoothly and the sail looks good again. We took the stay sail down and packed it away. We have moved the clocks back by two hours as the mornings have been darker and the evenings lighter. This creates havoc with some of our routine but we will soon get used to it. Barbados is 4 hours behind GMT so we need to take another two hours off somewhere along the way. Now that we have the jib up we are sailing nice and fast again, so hopefully no other boats will overtake us. From what I understand we are running third amongst the monohulls and are the smallest of the three so not doing to badly. The other boats ahead of us are all catamarans. Yesterday we sailed 124 nm, and currently we have 15 knots of wind and are going at 7 knots.
