Day 21 Tenerife to Barbados
10 December 2016 | Atlantic Ocean
Gillian
We put a third reef in last night and furled the jib in last night in an attempt to slow down but we still hurtled along, with waves creating havoc and shoving the boat from side to side when not surfing ahead. Not a good night for sleeping again. Today the winds have settled a bit and we are now going a little slower at 6 knots. This should get us to our waypoint south of Barbados at about 6am, at daybreak. So relatively calm on Silver Lining right now. We plan to hoist all our flags this afternoon so they are ready for arrival - these include our NZ flag, the Atlantic rally flag, Barbados 50 flag and the quarantine flag. We also have to place our rally numbers on the side of the boat. All a bit lazy here today - lots of napping. Food cravings continue ranging from ice cream, beer, hamburgers and hot chips.
