Night of no sleep

We had a languid sail to Sainte Anne, Martinique and anchored in a huge Bay with 5 m of water and nice sand to dig the anchor in. Sainte Anne is a sleepy little French village with a quaint little church and a number of tourist shops, patisseries and restaurants. We checked in using a self serve computer and one of the cafes. A pleasant evening with a nice BBQ on deck and then a rolly sleep.
In the morning we had a long dinghy ride to Le Marin to source boat bits and a SIM card. We had success with the boat bits but real difficulty getting a SIM card to work. Finally we got one going on my iphone and transferred that to our mobile wifi device.
By the time we left Le Marin the wind and sea had increased and we had a horrible banging dinghy ride back to our yacht. We had a dozen bottles of French wine with us (so marvellousness cheap here) which were clanging way and we broke one gin glass (had bought two ). On arrival to the boat the yacht behind us was trying to raise their anchor which seemed to be under our boat so they were perilously close. We climbed on board with difficulty as the boat and the dinghy were lurching about and motored forward so they could get their anchor up. By this time the wind had swung us onto a lee shore and we had rain and strong winds. Looking at the weather forecast we saw that it was not meant to last the night so we stayed put but it meant an unpleasant night with little sleep. By the morning however, it was still and calm!
Currently we are on our way to Grande Anne D'arlet and should be here for lunch. We are hoping to meet Neil's long time friend on his yacht Golightly there.
