Day 8 Guadalupe to Colon
19 March 2017 | Carribean sea

All went well last night with some nice fast sailing. By the morning, the wind and swell had eased quite a bit and then it died. So now we are motorsailing, trying to maintain a steady 6 knots so that we arrive at Shelter Bay marina outside Colon, before dusk tomorrow. Neil had to do some repair work on the shackle pin holding the jib in place. A bit hair raising as he had to sit right on the bow working around the furler while the boat was lurching about. And then he had to do another bit of acrobatic work - cleaning the bird poop off the solar panels! A whole pod of dolphins visited and played at our bow. We sat in front for ages watching their antics. Fresh bread for lunch and spaghetti bolognaise for dinner. We do eat well on this boat! Yesterday we did 150nm and currently we are motorsailing with 8 knots of wind and a 1m sea.
