Day 2 Panama to Galapagos

A glorious night sailing surfing along at 10 knots and at times 14! We reefed in the jib at one stage to get more control over the boat, but otherwise made very good progress. It was a full moon and dolphins arrived to do some acrobatics at the bow of the boat. In the morning the wind gradually died and by 10am the motor was on and has been all day. It is very hot with so little wind and we have had to spray ourselves down with the cockpit shower to keep cool. Lots of action on the water though - a huge shark sniffed around Neil's lures and then disappeared. We saw a number of large logs, one of which smacked the boat on the side, a flip flop floated by, and two large turtles! Let's hope we get a little wind to sail tonight as we could do without the constant drone of the engine. Our distance travelled yesterday was 172nm and currently we have 4 knots of wind and are motoring. Happy Easter!
