Farewell Suwarrow
03 September 2017 | Suwarrow, Northern Cook Islands

At last, the wind and swell has settled, and we are on our way to Nuie tomorrow. We had some rough weather here for a while, when the wind got up to 35 knots from the SE leaving us a bit exposed to the weather, and giving us some sleepless nights. The last two days have been much more settled and we have enjoyed more walks around the island and some snorkelling. We are sad to say goodbye to Suwarrow - it has been a very special place to visit, and we have been made very welcome by the Park Rangers Harry and Katu. What an unusual existence they have here, on their own for six months of the year except for passing yachties. Our trip to Nuie should take us four nights and we should arrive Friday morning local time. We are expecting light winds and moderate swell.
