Getting there!
19 March 2016 | Town Quay Marina, Southampton
Cloudy, 8 degrees C
We've been very busy, or should I say Neil has been very busy, with me the ever willing assistant.
All our electronics arrived so plenty of wiring needed to be done. We have installed a B&G chart plotter, AIS, and SSB receiver. The radar goes up next week and that will be linked to the B&G via wifi. The cool thing is I can connect my IPad to the B&G too via the wifi and have an interactive screen for the chart plotter, AIS and the radar. So I could be lying in bed and monitoring the radar at the same time!
We had velcro attached to the top of our Bimini and today we got the flexible solar panels fitted onto it. We have 3 x 300 Watts so hopefully that should sort out our power needs. We also have the hydrogenerator on passages so we should have more that enough.
Still cold here but we are starting to get the odd 10 degree and more, and when the sun comes out it is lovely. We are hoping to get away for Easter (test those solar panels) but as we still don't have our main we will need to check the weather first.
