Well, we had a local sailmaker come and assess our mainsail and help take it off the boat so it can be serviced. This also frees up the boom and associated bits and pieces for removal and service/repair.
The good thing is that as he was removing the mainsail he was making little comments like "well its nice you've got a really good batt car system" and "that's nicely done" or "that's good and strong". Essentially, it confirms some of our thinking that the boat has been reasonably well set up for offshore cruising.
Learnt quite a bit and got some good ideas .... and gained a bit of confidence in the boat, too.
